Rigor Hill Market is a newly opened, neighborhood cafe and marketplace. Our mission is to highlight produce fromthe Hudson Valley. Our farm is located in Ghent, NY. We showcase fresh seasonal produce, cooked and prepared foods, and baked goods. We serve coffeeand other beverage. We are partnered with the restaurant One White Street and our farm, Rigor Hill Farm. The market has a micro bakery with its own full production. A kitchen to support all prepared foods. We are looking to fill out our team of friendly and caring individuals who will help us establish our presence in the Tribeca community. If you love working with fantastic products and are enthusiastic about hospitality, we would love to talk to you about joining our team!General Description:theLine Cook is responsible for all aspects of the guest food experience. They plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets within departmental quality standards and recipes. Key Responsibilities Service Check production schedule and pars and establish priority items for the day Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards in a time-efficient manner Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, equipment, and supplies according to standards Work with the rest of the service team to oversee that all stations are set up properly and on time Restock items that were depleted during the shift Communicate with market floor staff to manage production timing, any client feedback, etc. Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities Support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible Complete other duties as assigned by management Communicate all necessary guest information with the team to set everyone up for success (allergy alerts, VIPs, special requests, celebrations, etc.) Sanitation, Hygiene, and Safety Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements and procedures Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly, and safely Inspect the cleanliness and organization of the line and workstations; rectify any deficiencies Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything complies with standards Inform supervisor on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Department of Health requirements Brand Understand and communicate Rigor Hill Market’s values and brand philosophy to customers and staff and set the tone for a positive work environment Promote the Rigor Hill Market vision while establishing us as an innovator within our industry Actively involved in Rigor Hill Market publicity opportunities and community outreach Walk the talk with who we are and what we stand for internally and externally Brings to life a guest-centric vision with our retail operations Additional Skills and Responsibilities Show a desire to learn about market products and develop within our company Demonstrate good organizational skills with an eye for detail Exude excellence in hospitality Passion for exceptional hospitality in food and beverage Has proper knowledge of usage and labeling of cleaning products Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Self-driven, results-oriented, and a passion for excellence Has lots of fun at work but is not afraid of putting in longer hours when required Highly effective communicator through email, phone, video, and in person Up to date and passionate about culinary trends in the United States and abroad Experience/Education Minimum 1+ yrs experience as a Line Cook Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs NYC Food Protection Certificate (preferred) Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential functions Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environments Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
